【Event Recap】Tung Wah Schools experienced AI technologies in STEM Tour

Trumptech and our strategic partner SenseTime Technology warmly welcomed more than 70 principals and teachers from across 50 Tung Wah schools at the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Youth AI Development Centre on 16 October. This Tung Wah STEM Tour was organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, with the theme of AI exploration.

Dr Zhang Yang from SenseTime and Trumptech’s education consultant jointly introduced our progressive AI education solutions. The team also shared case studies of AI application in education and demonstrated AI-infused dynamic models such as robotic football players, smart model cars, gesture recognition windmills, etc. With a well-structured curriculum, these altogether visualised for teachers the implementation of school-based AI learning and teaching.

The tour also brought visitors to the "Joint Innovation Plus" Hong Kong 5G Open Lab by China Mobile and SenseTime Technology's showroom. SenseTime’s AI technologies are trusted by partners in many industry verticals including Smart Business, Smart City, Smart Life and Smart Auto. At the showroom, principals and teachers experienced the auto-driving simulation and sticker generator of Meitu which applied with SenseTime’s face recognition technologies. They were also introduced to the large-scale smart city application with Shenzhen as the blueprint. We hope that these in-person experiences offer the vision to better understand the impacts and possibilities of artificial intelligence in daily life. With guidance and programmes, these would also be great exposures and inspirations for students to enter the world of AI technologies.
