The Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation , SenseTime and Trumptech have jointly launched the '’GenRobo Programme 2023-24 — The Path to Become AI Engineers’’, aiming to ignite students’ interest in artificial intelligence, robotics, and programming. This competition concluded triumphantly on April 6, 2024, drawing an impressive total of 1,600 participants from 28 diverse public, aided, and subsidized schools throughout Hong Kong!
Innovative Courses and Activities by Trumptech
Trumptech is thrilled to have been the program operator, working alongside Sensetime for the past six months, offering students a comprehensive learning journey, including Sensetime “A.I. Experience Workshop”, “Advanced A.I. Training Course” and “A.I. Competition”. Students can gain invaluable insights and practical experiences in the field of artificial intelligence through these enriching activities. Let's watch this video and celebrate the remarkable progress the students have achieved in their learning!
Competition Full of Challenges, Testing Students' On-the-Spot Skills
In the Competition, students showcased their creativity and programming prowess by building robots capable of executing four missions inspired by the "Great Inventions of China". To earn scores in the competition, students must demonstrate precision and accuracy by completing all missions including “Gunpowder Mission”, “Papermaking Mission”, “Compass Mission”, and “Movable Type Printing”.
The "Gunpowder Mission" requires students to operate a robot to pull a pin from a scene model accurately. It is a big challenge not only in problem-solving and programming skills but also their ability to adapt and modify codes at the spot.
Students showcased their creativity by building different robots, including one resembling an eye-catching windfire wheel.
Students tackled missions with intensity. They conferred on strategies, dived into coding, and exhibited enthusiasm for the competition.
To ensure the stable robot performance, students utilized "Image Detection" and "Text Recognition" of A.I. knowledge to repeatedly test and adjust.
Encouraging teens to pursue tech careers
We are honored to invite Mr. Bin Yang, Chief Executive of the Foundation, and Mr. Ming Kwok, CEO of Trumptech, to preside over the ceremony and witness the birth of the winning team. Both Mr. Yang and Mr. Kwok are passionate and concerned about the growth of Hong Kong students and the technology development of the Greater Bay Area.
